Manuela Salinas
Visionary. Knowledge Seeker. Pedagogue.
Hello!
My traditional name is pekim shemel (white feather), and I am Coast Salish of the shishalh Nation. I am a contemporary artist who explores a broad range of artistic styles, and an Educator with a Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Traditional practices have provoked me to experiment and develop my skills and processes for as long as I can remember. Now I find inspiration everywhere I look, which inevitably propagates my visions and practice. The desire to create through various design modes soon became an unyielding obligation to explore the inner mechanism of my creative consciousness. From small ideas to large-scale projects, my visions and practice are a highly personal reflection of my passionate self.
I’ve been lucky enough to have participated in many collaborative endeavours and exhibited in a solo capacity, which has assisted in my ability to share my visions and practice with the world.
